Implant Dentistry in Tauranga

Are you looking for a dentist that offers quality dental implants in Tauranga? Look no further than Tauranga Dental House for all your implant dentistry in Tauranga.

Dental implants are one of the finest solutions to missing teeth.

They are secure, comfortable, stable and attractive. Modern dental implants are precision devices, available in several different designs to address your specific needs. Once the crown is in place, you may not be able to tell it apart from your natural teeth.

If you have missing teeth and have healthy gums and jawbones, you may be in need of some of our Tauranga clinic’s implant dentistry services. The tooth implants our Tauranga dentists provide are ideal for replacing missing teeth or creating secure attachments for bridges and dentures. Like other appliances, they help remaining teeth keep their position, provide a solid bite and give you a secure smile.

Other teeth don’t need to be altered to accept implants. This is a large advantage when you’re replacing a single damaged tooth.

Implants can replace a single tooth, several teeth or be used to support and stabilise a denture. To learn more about the range of dental implants and implant services available at our clinic, call the team at Tauranga Dental House today.

Installing Implants

While dental implants provide a solid, secure form of artificial teeth, they also take considerable commitment and time to install. The process takes two to three procedures, depending on the circumstances.

Implant treatment can be broken down into four phases:

  1. Your doctor will take digital images and create a model of your existing teeth to determine how the implant should be placed.
  2. Occasionally, a bone graft will be needed to provide an adequate site for placement.
  3. A metal screw (usually titanium) is placed in the jaw for each tooth replacement. The implant is placed in the bone and sometimes given a period of time to heal (osseointegrate) before attachment of the crown. In some cases, you may receive a temporary crown the same day.
  4. The final crown is placed. This is usually three to six months after implant placement but can sometimes be done immediately.
  5. Maintaining your oral hygiene is the most important role you will play in the long-term success of your implant. Your dentist will give you specific instructions for brushing and flossing the area and see you at regular intervals. Given proper care dental implants can last a lifetime. In the rare instances that implants do not function properly, your dentist can usually perform a procedure to correct the problem.
